National Guard troops arrived in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday after being ordered into the city by Donald Trump in response to a weekend of violent clashes between law enforcement officers and protesters triggered by immigration enforcement operations in the area on Friday.
Protesters clashed with soldiers on Sunday afternoon after a crowd gathered near the Metropolitan Detention Center downtown. Images captured by CBS News Los Angeles showed members of the National Guard using what appeared to be tear gas and firing non-lethal rounds toward some groups of demonstrators.
Large-scale protests have sprouted throughout L.A. County including in the Westlake District, downtown L.A. and Paramount, and have escalated to violence on several occasions, following a large-scale operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Friday. A federal law enforcement official tells CBS News that multiple federal law enforcement officers were injured during confrontations with protesters on Friday and Saturday.
When the media says “protesters clashed with police”, what they actually mean is “police violently assaulted protesters”.
Even on the rare occasion where any of the protesters are violent, the cops almost always initiate it and any response is met with almost Israel-levels of disproportionate brutality.
#ACAB means police stenographers cosplaying as journalists too.

Looks like real Americans don’t like fascism.
Looks like real Americans want their law enforcement to identify themselves and provide due process, as our Constitution dictates.
Looks like real Americans want their federal law enforcement agencies to be created by an act of Congress, not by a 79 year old steeply declining felon rapist.
We are less than 5 months into this. It’s going to get a whole lot worse. L.A. is setting an example and standing up for our laws and our Constitutional rights.
I’m so proud of LA right now.
Those of us on the opposite side of the country may or may not be ready, as well, when our time comes. (And it’s definitely a “when.”)
“These are not protesters, they are troublemakers and insurrectionists,” the post said, “Remember, NO MASKS!”
Unless you’re ICE. Or a cop. Or a J6er.
Now I wonder if blending in with ice would be easy these days. They all wear basically camo khakis, and if everyone is masked anyway, what’s to stop an entire cadre of people to show up to ice thugs arresting people all dressed like them? They’d never know who to arrest if a melee started
It probably would. Just wear your most tacti-cool gear and join a group. You’d need several people on board to make a difference though.
Those assholes don’t show name or insignia. Show them the problem with that.

The guy who shot her was watching her at the start of the video, so he clearly knew she was a reporter
ACANazis
There are good cops out there, and we need to recognize them.
But we certainly can’t assume any given cop is one of them, and there are lots of bad cops playing Good Cop making it even harder.
no “good cop” turns in the bad cops, that makes them accessories in the eyes of the law. so take you good cop and shove it up your as bootlicker
The reason “ACAB” is a thing is that “good cops” pretty quickly either cease to be good or cease to be cops (e.g. Frank Serpico).
That’s why the “a few bad apples” analogy applies: because they spoil the bunch. The whole bunch, without exception.

All Cops means all cops
I salute our troops
And I’m not talking about the national gaurd
I was up late watching a live stream. Haven’t seen anything about the guy in a min van doing reverse donuts near the crowd. Some people were throwing rocks at him before he took off.
Chopper followed him till he parked, then a cop car pulled up and arrested him.
Yes, the news chopper guy and anchor seemed almost relieved to have a car chase to film for a change from watching the protests deteriorate into something more like random hooliganism and police violence. It’s just luck he didn’t kill somebody, he was clearly trying to. Like when he swerved towards the cyclist, and aimed those donuts at the crowd.
