For all their “christianity”, republicans in the US are pretty hypocritical.

Jesus actually teached that everybody deserves to get fed and housed. That everybody deserves healthcare. That people should care for other people in their community. That is essentially the core principles of socialism.

Denying Jesus’ insistence that you should look after the poor, the widows and foreigners is aok by you, though, for some reason. “If you love me, follow my commands.” “When did we see you hungry and not feed you?” “It is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.”

You’ve corrupted a message of “no, pay your taxes and your synagogue” and “love your neighbour (meaning anyone who is in need, including foreigners, and put your money where your mouth is)” into “it’s fine to advocate for and vote for tax cuts for the wealthiest and aid cuts for those on greatest need, and incarcerating people for being foreign”.

There is no get out clause for selfishness and hatred via the ballot box as you’re claiming.

If I thought for a moment that you meant something other than that you find yourself excuses for supporting the Liar in Chief and the grand old party of selfishness, hatred and racism, I wouldn’t be calling you out on it, but you’re not just lying about Jesus’ message, you’re lying about your political neutrality which is non-existent and attempting to draw others into your duplicity and self deception.

I’m sorry, but what exactly made you think I’m supporting the Republican party here, just because I hinted at the fact that the Democrats are no angels either? What did it matter that Democrats were in control for the last four years when grocery prices still went up by 100%?

Where did I advocate for tax cuts for the wealthy, or cutting welfare to the needy? All I said was that as far as I understand it, Jesus didn’t advocate for voting to have the government take care of your neighbor, but to do it yourself instead. Which, as far as I understand it, just means that you can’t vote your way out of your problems, you have to take personal responsibility as much as you can.

If there is someone in your life that needs more help than the government is providing, and you have the means to help them, you should do so, instead of complaining that the government isn’t doing enough. It doesn’t matter who’s in charge of the White House, what matters is what you do with what you’re given.
