When I worked in catering we were taught to open bottles quietly because the sound of bottles being popped sounds like money being spent to the event organiser and you want to serve/charge them for as many bottles as possible.

Yes, rich people tend to wear expensive but durable clothes that last a long time.
Have also noticed they tend to drive older cars too. I guess they have nothing to prove to anyone else.
Damn dude, sorry to hear that.
Upper back pain is quite unusual compared to lower back pain. Definitely worth getting checked out by a doctor when you can.
Anyway if you are working from home try to move to a different position every 30-40 mins. I find that standing up and putting the laptop on a chest of drawers or something similar for a while really helps with stopping the pain accruing in a certain area. If that’s too painful try to be on your feet semi-frequently, like taking a bathroom break and walking around the block.
You probably don’t want to do any strenuous exercise like pilates but some light yoga might help.
Somewhere in the OP you mentioned NSAID’s which are what I get prescribed - the one I have is called diclofenac and it’s stronger than ibuprofen but there are even stronger ones too.
Voice notes on WhatsApp/iMessage is essentially the exact same thing as voicemail but for some reason zoomers are happier with those.
One of my childhood friends had a partner who discovered she was trans while they were in a long-term relationship. They tried to make it work but I think that only caused the whole situation to become messier.
Didn’t help that both of them were living with my friend’s mother and the partner who was transitioning refused to get a job.
Edit: Childhood friend is a woman; her ex is an MTF woman. Just to be clear on the circumstances.
Nice to hear a happy ending… At least I think that’s happy, your “gun and shovel” comment is a bit omninous unless it’s an idiom I’ve not heard before.
Edit: Fairly sure it’s innocuous but just in-case - pls don’t murder your wife
The truth is that there are many compatible potential partners out there for any given person. You’ve had a bad experience but there are other people out there who you could have a true, mutual relationship with (when you’re ready to look for that again).
Edit: Was responding to you being “done with love” but not phrasing it well. I suppose I mean that you might get more from relationships by not putting Love on a pedastal.
What chronic pain condition do you suffer from? I’ve got a degenerative disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis that causes me a lot of pain. I might have some tips for working from home if you have similar symptoms.
It takes a while to get used to the new house after you move in. You are hyper aware of little things that you might have missed during viewings, mainly due to being responsible for maintaining it now. I remember being alarmed by floorboards creeking while I went to the bathroom one night after moving in. It’s almost like learning a new musical instrument or something.
That said, you do settle in after a few weeks. Our settling in was delayed slightly by a leak to the shop downstairs which turned out to be the exit pipe for the whole block (so not so bad) but took a while to get to the bottom of. Now, it’s been more than 2 years and I’m not sure where the time went.
My advice would be to try and avoid the temptation of leaving boxes around unpacked. Getting everything stored away correctly will make you feel at home much faster.
Under my partner’s neck, between their shoulder and the pillow
Frivolous lawsuit against the government or a FAANG company
I also found it underwhelming which is a shame because I generally love Obsidian RPGs. They did a much better job with Avowed recently in my opinion.
As much as I dislike the way people use words like “destroys” and “slams” to describe a dispute between two people, that burn was very funny.
Kieth is still preferable to some of the other mascots out there. Looking at you Sudo Sandwich -
I’ve had slight scoliosis all my life due to being very tall and having multiple growth spurts in my teens. That has bothered me in the mornings pretty much since I was 16. Last year, I started getting increased pain around my pelvis which eventually got diagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis, associated with another diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis. I’m 32 now and doing physiotherapy in order to keep flexible, the exercises seem to be a subset of pilates, also been prescribed dicofenac which is like a stronger version of ibuprofen which works well.
Blacking out from pain doesn’t sound normal. I’ve got a degenerative disease diagnosis and have never blacked out - although I have had days where I’ve struggled to move.
Looks like they got banned from the politics sublemmy then rage quit https://lemmy.world/modlog?userId=477305
Let me interject for a moment. What you’ve referred to as “butter” is actually “I can’t believe it’s not/butter”. Have a pleasant day!
To be honest even matrix has too many features for me as a discord alternative. I’ve got my IRC channels that I’m keen on and I hang out on those every day.
Realise I’m probably unusual for being happy with 90s tech though!
mpv is worth a shout out as well
