I don’t know if they still use this saying, but I like it:
“When in doubt, pray.
When in prayer, doubt.”

I mean, walking by and seeing
How could you not?
Which one was that?

Which carrier?
The freedom of Android means that there are tens of thousands of variations of devices / os versions / carriers all with different states of being close or far to vanilla and being more or less locked down. There’s a reason Graphene only officially supports Pixels.
Palantir has more data on more people in the world likely than any other corporation, and Peter Thiel is trying to wield it to collapse global democracy, so yes
I would say that psychologically it’s the addiction of power. We toe the line where “competition” creates the dopamine release of “being better than others.”
Yet for some that means it’s never enough. Richest person in the world? Need to take over government. Most powerful world leader? Need to assert myself even more.
I think the great filter often boils down to unnecessary competition. In the short term it leads to technological strides, but in the long term it becomes a species self-harm, and perhaps broader. A good theoretical example is
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_of_Earth’s_Past
Every species that exists within that series is so focused on ensuring they have the most power that they will go out of their way to annihilate any other species due to the assumption that’s what all of them will do is seek more power. Ironically considering the scientific and technological capabilities of the involved parties, they may have been able to work together towards a better outcome than “anyone who isn’t me is my enemy” which is basically universal fascism.
lol a non-significant percentage of them probably believe the moon landing was faked as part of lib deep state effort by Hillary Clinton and she was emailing about it
(Yes, I understand the impossibility of this, they do not.)
I think outlawed is less likely. Probably insanely taxed so only the wealthy can afford them. Everyone else needs to use the Palantir T1 mobile spying device or else
I would go to the CDC to check but that’s been deleted. We’ve solved it by removing the webpage
https://www.cdc.gov/tick-borne-encephalitis/index.html
I’m kidding, but it certainly seems to be a thing that people should be aware of.
That being said I think the scary thing about Lyme disease is the symptoms aren’t crazy strong at the beginning, and easy to misattribute if you miss the tick. But if you don’t treat it early it can really fuck you up.
I got bit by a tick years ago when I was 16, right above my belt buckle. Had a generalized rash, and my doctor said it was because of an allergic reaction to my belt buckle and prescribed me steroid cream. Basically had to demand a Lyme test just in case and tested positive.
But did you think about the shareholders
Nah, had to go find it
Both what I was thinking of and a commercial I’ve never seen captured that vibe
EDIT
I found the video you’re talking about lol
While that’s definitely the vibe I was thinking of, I’ve never seen it, but seeing 1992 Gary Busey move through the backseat of the car is excellent
I’m referring to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0OZziLsTSg
The original was posted on YT a long time ago but I can’t find it
I hate youtube shorts so here’s a catbox link:

Not to worry, it’s made in china, shipped from china, and then people in detention centers will be forced by ICE to package it for that bonus fascism feel for those that believe it’s made in the US and and they’re getting a deal on the T-Mobile package that costs almost 2x other providers for the same service.
Yeah there was just recently a top post on lemmy on whether or not people believe that Trump ignoring federal judges is illegal. I haven’t seen evidence that his administration is following through on any of these rulings, rather that it’s just dragging its feet until there’s no more judges to make the rulings.
That was my point. A president standing in front of logos with a world on the brink of collapse around him. The only difference in Idiocracy is that when everything got real shitty Dwayne was still willing to try “science” whereas I’m sure the fascists would rather drink brawndo until they died to “own the libs” than admit change was required so they could eat.
Yeah lol the mic is definitely always connected to Palantir on this bad boy
I remember a video of someone just getting in the car’s backseat, scooting over, and then getting out the other door. If the doors are unlocked I feel like that’s the best option. Really fuck with their sense of personal space considering they think all the space around them is their personal space regardless of the rules.
Lol he did approach his problem with science and eventually was happy with the solution, but in the interim he also sentenced the person that proposed the scientific solution to death against gladiator and only changed his tune when someone illegally filmed the unexpected plant growth so 5/10
Yeah had to swap out a steam deck joystick and scooped one up from iFixit and it was wonderfully easy to swap. That being said, being able to switch them out on my dualsense edge without a screwdriver and just having a switch on the back of the controller is really neat. Definitely my favorite controller I’ve owned, I just wish more PC games supported the haptics.
