if there’s an accident, the parents will be fined and the scooter confiscated.
Yeah, but that’s post hoc enforcement

If they were acting randomly yeah, but unfortunately even though they sometimes seem like they are, there’s very much a plan here.
They want to burn the world down to rule the ashes.
Conservatism is a death cult. It’s almost 100% guaranteed that any sort of technology they tout or decision they make will lead to people dying and/or a worse outcome for humanity
I absolutely don’t know, but my guess would be spambots or somesuch
Finland; our police force is already really overextended and generally doesn’t give a shit about small stuff like this.
Good luck enforcing that shit
You should stop using the PowerCore 10000 ‘immediately’
Engadget “journalists” don’t know how to use quotes
Edit: it’s probably I who doesn’t know how to use quotes
(is great (oh (really (like-p lisp you))))
If the data you’re handling isn’t sensitive in any way (or you can eg. anonymise / pseudonymise it) and you don’t have anything else sensitive on the VM, it wouldn’t really matter either way – and as @[email protected] said, if you’re running an executable from some yarrr site you’re probably going to get malware
Just run it in a VM?
Implying they ever had the plot to begin with
Doing stupid things because stupid people do stupid things too 👌
Comparing apples to oranges doesn’t make any more sense just because someone else does something even dumber.
In fact, maybe we should run offices like that. Just breed developers in a closed system
At some point going as far as trying to genetically engineer an even larger hamster instead of just changing the design so that it could use multiple smaller but parallel hamsters
And yes, that’s a real quote.
Zero sympathy for collaborators who get their faces eaten by leopards. I hope they suffer.
People have the memory of fruit flies.
That seems like an unfair characterisation. Unfair to fruit flies, that is.
The fact that the US effectively has two political parties for, what, 340 million or so people (yes yes I know eg. the Greens etc. exist, but they’re all such minor players that they might as well not even exist) is just unbelievable. I know it’s a more or less guaranteed outcome with first-past-the-post voting, but it’s still just crazy that something hasn’t been done to fix this – not that either of the two “one party” parties has any interest in fixing it.
I live in Finland, with a population of about 5.6 million people, and we have around 20 active political parties ranging from literal neofascist to communist. 9 of them are currently in Parliament, one of which is a democratic socialist party (and I don’t mean social democrat, although they’re also in Parliament). Even with all this variety, I feel like we could use more and more diverse political parties. Can’t even imagine how the average American feels about their voting choices (at least if that average American isn’t a fascist wannabe, they’re probably very happy right now)
What’s scary is that it seems like every conservative around the world is fully erect / has soaked their panties taking notes of what the Trump regime is doing, and so many are outright blatantly copying the tactics – and they’re working
No kidding. Basically I’m just waiting for news of journalists getting executed by this guy
Hanlon’s Razor is all well and good as a heuristic, but tends to lead to people discounting malice much too often. Also, I really didn’t say we were “under attack”
