I’m a fan of PeerTube, but it’s… rough. Discoverability is subpar and many instances are bandwidth constrained. Video streaming is still a bulk-hosting game unfortunately.

I think the migration to Piefed would be worse. Piefed is great, but needs better App support for Lemmy users to migrate. A merge of the Thunder fork into main Thunder would get the ball rolling.

The issue at hand is you fail to separate the fandom from the economic benefit driven to the author.
It’s like buying Nestle because you enjoy the chocolate, despite the fact that there are respectable companies that aren’t absolute monsters that also make chocolate you could be enjoying.
JKR is as much HP as Mark Schneide is Nestle. End of story. If you don’t support her views, find one of the millions of other wonderful works of literature to be a fan of.
I just scrolled through your post history. Many of your posts are items I have read and/or scrolled past absorbing the headline. These have kept me, and others I speak with, informed. So I would say, definitely, and please continue.
