This post isn’t about “hey everybody go kill protestors.” It’s about “hey if you’re protesting I’m Florida expect some Nazi to try and kill you with their car so be careful.”
I play guitar, watch USMLR and NHL, occasionally brew beer, enjoy live music and travel, and practice sarcasm.

Having empathy.
I would have absolutely bought an iPad instead of a Surface Pro if I could run desktop MacOS applications on it when docked to desktop peripherals. I want one single convergent device for tablet and desktop.
Seems rather intuitive, no?
We really should be talking about Rampart.
Vote for progressives in your state and local Democratic primaries.
And have an intern post something utterly tone-deaf on BlueSky.
No it keeps the legislature Republican. State-wife offices aren’t impacted by gerrymandering. It’s all about turnout, and the Governor, Lt Governor, and Attorney General are expected in Presidential midterm years here. Harris in 2024 and Biden in 2020 both received more votes then Abbott did in 2022 or 2018.
I meant a specialized application, like the Atari one that beat the LLM.
Human brains lose to computerized chess all the time, though. So I guess this is a win for AI tech bros?
You know I never even thought to compare that. Turnout here is just so bloody awful.
I thought districts can only be redrawn following the census. Or when court-ordered to do so.
I think we won’t see any rebalancing of the legislature in Texas until there is a Democratic surge that flips the state and federal offices. Probably a US Senate in a presidential year. That will turn Texas into a battle state for Gov, Lt. Gov, and AG in following mid-term election. Only then will we have a chance at districts being redrawn to be more representative.
I believe we have enough people of the political leaning in Texas to oust the Republicans, but only if they get the fuck to the polls and vote. Which they historically have not done.
Blatant gerymandering has been shot down in court before. I know it’s Texas, but we can dream
Only racially based gerrymandering. The SCOTUS ruled federal courts can’t review partisan gerrymandering.
Sunrise at 06:00 UTC in one timezone would occur at 03:00 UTC three timezones over
Right, but I wouldn’t want to keep my daily routine aligned to a different time zone than where I am.
So if you’re travelling or even communicating across timezones, you haven’t fixed anything by using UTC since daily activities (sleep, meals, etc.) are still correlated to when the sun is up or not
Exactly. So why would I want to adjust my alarm to 3am after travelling 3 time zones? I only care about relating the time between two zones for real-time communication with people in the other zone. And I’m not getting up at 3am for them.
Is you taking notes on a criminal fucking conspiracy?
