Apparently he would impress world leaders by studying their entire culture before meeting and it allowed him to deeply connect with them. My grandfather was the same way.

A buddy called me to fix some plumbing in a house he baught , he said the previous owners were hoarders. So I went over and the whole fucking basement was wall to wall book shelves with fucking isles!

He said the lady that owned the house was some eccentric type that hung out in NY back in the 50’s around artists and writers, traveling the world etc. her husband was some sort of critic and they liked books.

I asked what he was doing with it all and he said he sold the contents of the house sight unseen to some guy that wanted it all and was going to be arriving any minute but if I wanted anything to take it now. My brain was scrambling, I didn’t want to be a dick so I just grabbed two books; Tropic of Cancer and Future Shock ( and a bunch of lab equipment that was in a secretive back room lol). They were both first edition books and had newspaper clippings about Miller and Toffler among other reviews that were stuffed in the pages.

It was crazy because they had so much bad ass shit , old leather bound stuff etc. It was just too much to process and I hope it didn’t all wind up in a dumpster. I wish I could have spent a few days pillaging those shelves.

If is is not carrying solids i agree but the problem would be going beyond the acceptable tollerances of the mechanical joints and glue joints of the fittings.

I have seen too many times something that is forced cause major damage. The cabinetry looks nice and rather than take the time while it is not at the point of no return to make it correct would be foolish. Sometimes you need to drop back and punt 🤷‍♂️

I could never leave until every other person I know that wanted to get out makes it out. I couldn’t live with myself knowing I was strong enough to help people that got stuck dealing with whatever bull shit scenario is coming down the line. I truly hope that people that know they can’t handle it do make it out safe because it is surely going to get crazier than any other time in recent history … at least that people in the west have had to deal with.

You need to either open up the wall in that bathroom or on the other side and rough the sanitary line in at the proper height. So these are not like a physical 1 terabyte external storage thingy that I’ve seen on ebay etc.? Would one of those external drives work for backing up physical media collections, or are they a bad idea? Is that considered NAS?

What the hell is RAID and NAS ? I have a bad ass DvD collection to the tune of 3k films ( no pineapple express bull shit ) that I’ve been wanting to back up. I don’t know shit about computers but have a 2014 MacBook pro with a disk drive that has never been online just used to watch movies when the power is out and to load my cd collection to mp3 players.
