I was going to joke that they must’ve left the girl alone by mistake, as I interpreted ‘leaving alone’ in the ‘they didn’t bother her’ way.

But they left her literally alone on the streets to fend for her own.

After 2001, visiting USA has seemed like a bad idea, but nowadays it’s looking even worse. I feel like I would be asking for trouble if I went there.
